Between September 2017 and November 2021 I was Lay Pastor at Bramhall Methodist Church in Stockport. During 2021, in the lead up to CoP 26, I led the church through a climate year which incldued:
- Attaining silver award status with Ecochurch.
- Co-writing a series of small group discussion sessions “Why and how the church should respond to the climate emergency?“
- Hosting a series of webinars “Praying for our Planet” in which seven cliamte or environemental scientists who are Christians talked about the relationship between their science and their faith.
- Organising a Week of Prayer for our Planet on behalf of Churches Together in Greater Manchester.
- Holding a three day eco-festival, “Touching the Earth Lightly“
- Meeting with our MP, Mary Robinson, to discuss our concerns for the climate and environment with support from Make CoP Count.
The year was covered in an article in The Connexion Magazine which you can read and/or download below.
